View Full Version : Scenarist: multiple number of frame error-Solution

This is a problem that many have, but just a few solve…when working with Vob ID and seamless branching
Apparently we can trim or add 5 frames to the video of the vobid and sometimes the problem is solved…But not always
I don’t think that this is related to the DVD2AVI frame error.
The error appears when you enable the seamless flag in Scenarist
I don’t know what the problem is but I have used the following solution and it works OK.
BTW I have used this when a single pgc has all the vobid’s, but I think that it could be used when the vobID’s are separated in different PGC’s

Method:
1 Just demux and encode as a regular non-multi vobID project.
2 Make sure that the chapter points are correctly positioned prior to encoding, in order for scenarist to put chapters at the exact points. (put chapter points, I frame, at each cell during encoding)
3 Import the encoded assets in scenarist and set chapters for each cell
4 Author the movie using the different cells instead of vobId
5 If you name the chapters right and keep track of everything (a lot of work) then you will not get the frame error

As I said I have used this method and it will work OK
But If there is a difference between the encoding settings for each vobID then you have a problem…If the vobID’s have the same encoding settings then just re-encode the hole movie and use the cells to author instead of using VobIDs.

I think that the Adj Cell mode of IfoUpdate is faster and more efficient but isn’t there an issue with sinc when there is a silent pgc at the beginning of the title??

Any comments are very welcome.
I would like to finally solve this frame count issue.

Thanks,
