hi all,
I'm starting reencoding AVIs to DVDs, using the so called Dvd2Svcd bundle (1.2.1-3 with CCE 2.5) so far with the given default values. I have a couple of questions on this "bundled" procedure for which I could certainly use some skilful advice:
1.- Is there some better/faster AVI to DVD procedure than leaving default encoding values at Multipass VBR -3 passes- (Max bitrate: 9000, Min: 2000, Max Avg: 7200)? On SVCDs there was a certain very useful guide, posted by kraven morehead "a quicker way to encode svcds with great quality", which nicely dealt with it and more than halved the duration for SVCDs. Any speed/quality hints for avis2DVDs?
2.- When the Dvd2Svcd bundle process gets to "make images", it opens and uses Scenarist (I got 2.7) as assumed by default. Sometime works and you get the images, sometime hangs over layout problems or mixes the chapters. I'm left then with alot of time lost and an mpv video file plus an mp2 audio file. After some wondering I found out TMPGEnc Author could finish the job and I'd like to ask whether it's the best to get to an end the mpv+mp2 stage where I'm left. Or might be better to uncheck "make image" on the DVD2SVCD bundle and author and burn the BBMPEG file with i.e. Nero6?
3.- And last: Can you burn the vob files or is it necessary/better or advisable to make the image prior to burning.
I know that's a lot and ask for forgiveness, but I couldn't make it shorter since english is not my best language.
Thanks in advance,
cinta
ps.- hope this is the right forum...
