I have used DVD Decryptor to get the DVD files onto my HDD, I have then used DVD95Copy to shrink the files. The issue is not that this doesn't work, it is that the shrunk file is only 1MB, which suggest I am losing alot more quality than I need to. I have tried the Repack evenly with Menu, Fit to DVD options etc with no relief.

Has anyone else come across the same issue? I have a trial version of DVD95Copy - but I can't see that this is a limitation of the trial version. I also have plenty of HDD space.

Any suggestions on how to get a shrunk file of 4.3G would be appreciated.

Thanks

Did you mean to say that your compressed file was one gigabyte, rather than one megabyte? Even if that's the case, a file of 1GB is a tremendous amount of compression to be applied to a commercial DVD. Having no experience with DVD95Copy, I can't point you to a specific step in your procedures that you might have neglected to take.

Many of the members that are new to the world of backups are using DVD Shrink (http://www.doom9.org/mpg/dvdshrink31-main.htm), a freeware tool that can be found here in the forum, is highly supported, and is comparatively easy to use. The link will take you to its Guide, from there, download the latest versions of each required software program....and go to work!

If your source is an .avi file, created from your own, legal sources, then toss this info, and wait for someone with more experience with DVD95Copy to come along. :)

My apologies. Yes the compressed file was 1GB, not 1MB.
