View Full Version : Besweet bug - it crashes in shibatch

I have an audio file that came from a MOV music video. I converted
the MOV to an AVI, and extracted the audio to a wav. The audio from
the mov was at 22050, and so is the wav. When trying to convert it to
an mp2 at 44100, besweet crashes in shibatch. But ssrc (v1.29) can
successfully resample it to 44100. The original wav is 185 seconds
(16mb), but a smaller clip (3 seconds, 2656kb) also fails.

This is on an AMD2400+, running XP-SP1. When I try in on a Pentium
running W2K, it just goes into a tight loop using 100% CPU, and never
terminates.

You can download the WAV file here:

bug confirmed (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&postid=164133#post164133).
i'm afraid i won't have the time to troubleshoot this in the near future.

I have the same problem. I use VDub to convert the wav to the desired kHz.

I guess the reason is that the shibatch.dll is rather optimized for downsampling (48000 => 44100 Hz), whereas ssrc.exe is a full-featured sampling rate converter.

I had a different problem with the shibatch.dll. The output to be twice as fast as the input. I was downsampling from 48KHz to 44.1KHz and the input was also mono. When I removed the shibatch parameter with the output.
