Ok,
I know that there are progressive flags in most dvds these days, and since i do own a progressive scan dvd player, I am wondering if these are being included when I backup my movies.
I was thinking that for the 1:1 copies (which are rare) that it might be possible these are getting copied, but in larger dvd-9 etc movies, once compression takes place, are these getting lost? What if I were just to do movie only? I guess it wouldnt matter there either. Bottom line am I just making glorifed S-vcds here?
I really would like proof that I am actually using the orignial progressive tags in my backups.

I dont know why this never occured to me until now.

Also most of the time Im using Instatnt Copy 8 and very rarely (since I like to keep the structure of most dvds) DVD Shrink latest version.

Thanks-

There is no real "progressive" flag...
Either the original video is encoded progressive or interlaced. A transcoder is not able to do such a structural change of a video. Only reencoding can make you change between these "flags".
So you are safe with InstantCopy and all other transcoders...
