I have a Canon A70 Digital Camera that is capable of taking movies as well. The most I can do at once is a 30 second clip at 800x600 resolution, that turns out to be roughly 25mb. Now for the purpose of my website, I would like to make these video clips more compressed if possible, turning them into DivX or any other smaller format. I tried using TMPGEnc and GKnot, but neither one will open the avi file. Here is a link to the file as it sits on my webpage

Just looking for how to make these movies smaller. Thanks

Hello, jbr12, and welcome to Doom9's forum!

If your AVIs are in DV format, then I think you should spend time in the DV Forum (http://forum.doom9.org/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=59). Your question about why these AVIs don't open may be answered by the DV FAQ (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=30495), and there is also a DV to DivX Guide (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=32197) there that may help.
