View Full Version : VobSub not doing anything after I give it the IFO file.

As per the guides instructions, I click configure, give it the IFO file, select my desktop for the index, and then hit enter. Nothing happens.

The select boxes for the IFO and place to save the index box close and it stays at the configure screen looking the same as it did when I opened it.

The guide says a screen should pop up immediately after selecting the IFO and giving a save path for the index.

I am lost.

I gave up and used SubRip. Nevermind.

Hello, Hentai Tentacle Demon, welcome to Doom9's forum.

I'm just guessing... you may have pointed to the .ifo, but you need to change the "Files of Type" menu from .idx/.sub to .ifo/.vob at the bottom of the file-opening window. If that wasn't done, that may have been your problem.

Having used both Subrip and Vobsub, I prefer the latter for OCR (Subresync tool); but I will sometimes use Subrip afterwards to transcode subtitle formats.

I have found SubRip to be exactly what I need since I am ripping foreign DVDs and anime.

I was having problems with the vobs starting at like 45 minutes in on the timer(but the avi would start at 0) and the subs would start at the time the vobs dictated. SubRip's add/remove amount from timestamps feature rocks the house.
