I have ripped the dvd to hd (Taxi3)

I run ifoedit 096 ,load Video_ts.ifo & press dvdplay

I choose in menu and the movie starts.I exit dvdplay in ifoedit.

played titles: title 1 ( VTS_01_x.xxx )
title 8 ( VTS_05_x.xxx )

I start ifo and load VTS_5_x.xxx (The movie). I choose vobextra/strip streams. I mark correct VOB-unit,correct original ifo,
and strip to a different directory.

I now have new VTS_05_x.xxx

Then i copy the original video_ts.ifo and VTS_01_x.xxx to the new
VTS_05_x.xxx.

I quit ifoedit and run it again.
I load video_ts.ifo in the new directory with VTS_05_x.xxx and
choose GET VTS SECTORS.Choose Yes when asked to correct.

I quit and run ifoedit again and load video_ts.ifo and choose DVDPLAY
The menu and movie works perfect.

I make a DiscImage of the movie and it runs ok.

Now my question. I wanted to try dvdshrink and loded the files in it but dvdshrink says,it couldnt find VTS_02_0.ifo.

I manually copies them and try again, this time it couldnt find VTS_02_menu_1.VOB.

It asks for the ifo and vob files i didnt copy ( extras)

How can i be sure that when i burn this dvd it will play in a standalone player.

Im i missing something out !!

There must be something , because Stomp Record Now wont let me burn the VIDEO_TS folder, it says something about dvd format error !!

@slayerDK

Your big problem is that your valid DVD Structure is now "invalid".

Then i copy the original video_ts.ifo and VTS_01_x.xxx to the new VTS_05_x.xxx.

The menu and movie works perfect.Though you chose to do it this way, it will work but if you choose any of your extras, you will find your standalone erroring out because why? You don't have those files on your DVD anymore.

Now my question. I wanted to try dvdshrink and loded the files in it but dvdshrink says,it couldnt find VTS_02_0.ifo.DVD Shrink analyzes your VIDEO_TS.IFO, which is your Video Manager in charge of all your Titlesets (VTS). It detects in the IFO that you suppose to have certain files present in order to have a valid DVD structure.
I manually copies them and try again, this time it couldnt find VTS_02_menu_1.VOB.So you copied your VTS_02_0.IFO but you also didn't copy over our VTS_02_0.VOB. DVD Shrink is again complaining about a missing file, which is your menu VOB. It's doing it's job correctly.
It asks for the ifo and vob files i didnt copy ( extras)Need I repeat myself?

Now, if you want to retain your DVD STructure, you would have to copy ALL your other files accross that was newly created. After you get VTS Sectors, you'll find that DVD Shrink no longer gives you an error during analysis stage.

If you really must get rid of your extras, use my title stripping guides for your VTS_01 to VTS_04 since you state that VTS_05 is your movie titleset. Do this prior to using DVD Shrink.

thanx for answering 2COOL :-)

I want to use ifoedit , strip out the unwanted streams and extra to get the best quality.

I tried to copy all the missing files to the newly created, did a get vts and it loaded perfect in dvdshrink.

But when i remove the extras again shrink complains again.

I have to remove extras because the files is 4900 mb, and i dont want to transcode.

The complete movie and menu is 4400 mb.

Isnt it possible to edit video_ts.ifo and cut out the ripped ifos and vobs.

Maybe i should look at your guides. Afterall you are a pro. ;-)
