I have some old homemovies that i have in AVI format on my PC.
There is no sound with those movies, so there is also no audio stream in the AVI file (which is ok with me).
Now i want to convert this AVI to SVCD.
Normally I prefer to use DVD2SVCD for creating SVCD cd's.
Because I have no sound available the audio conversion (first step in DVD2SVCD) locks up and I have to kill the process.
My question: Is there a way to create SVCD with no sound (preferably through DVD2SVCD? or is there a way to create a "silent" audio file with the same exact length as my movie and a very low bitrate just to get me through the conversion process?

I'm sure they'd know how to craete a silent WAV in the audio forum

Well in the meantime I figured out how to create an empty wav file, merge it with the avi, so I could create my moviefile.
But I still think its a bit strange you can't create a video without sound (at least not through dvd2svcd).

You can try this (www.iespana.es/jsoto/tools/sil_exe.zip)

It's a simple tool to create silence tracks. Sorry, it only supports ac3 and dts, but you can convert to mp2, wav, mp3 with BeSweet.

If you can create a silent AC3 file, perhaps the easiest way would be to add the stream in vdubmod and select Direct Stram Copy in the video menu. Then resave the AVI and do the AVI2SVCD conversion as normal.

I can't see why that wouldn't work.

Just been doing some testing.
If you wish to use my method as above, when converting in DVD2SVCD uncheck Autodetect Azid Gain in the Audio tab and set Azid Gain to 0.

Otherwise you get some very noisy silence!

hehe, I already noticed that.
I got the movie converted and it looks good on my pc, but when i play it on my dvd the video flickers :(
I never had that problem and all kinds of setting don't seem to work.
Using Tmpgenc without dvd2svcd it is ok. But that gives me a hard time making the size fit to 4 cd's.
