View Full Version : bad frame/bad index issue

Its a divx encoded movie, but seems to have a bad frame and index. I usually know a movie has a problem when it wont play in WMP.

Anyway, so about 1/4 through the movie it just stops. Doesn't freeze, just stopped and I got the divx screen on the divx player. I'm not able to scan through the movie in the player, but I know its all there.

I scanned the movie with divfix and it apparently has a bad frame. I'm not worried about the index, since I can just load it up in VDub and make a new "copy". I want to get rid of the frame(s).

Now this may be a stupid issue, but the reason im having problems is its just plain taking FOOOOOREEEEEEVER to load this movie into VDub because of the import filter. The import filter pops up, and says its reconstructing the index.....its going fast, then it goes into aggressive mode (bad frame), and from there, we're talkin literally 5+ hours to get this movie loaded......

I've even tried just marking the point where the movie goes poop, and cutting it out with an avi splitter and rejoining the movie, recreating a new index etc, but I just cant load it. So is there anyway around this import filter issue? I mean just SOME way to get a movie into virtual dub without having to wait FOREVER for the import filter?

Also, im open to any other suggestions on how to get this stupid frame/index issue solved. I've tried avidefreeze and that hasnt worked well for me at all with any other movies either.

Thanks in advance.
