hi,

I'm trying to upgrade from my BT878 based card to the latest Connexant CX23880 Cards.

I'm looking for advice on manufacturers, etc... and I'm also concerned about drivers being stable.

TIA

I have a Pixelview PlayTV PVR. It's good quality TV card, but have some problems with the latest driver. I guess Prolink is very imature with this new tecnology yet.

Other option I have heard very good is MSI TV@nywhere Master. MSI made a very good cards.

I have the MSI card and an AVER TV BT878a. It all depends upon what you capture. The MSI will retain more info from an s-video dvd capture. The Aver has a better tuner. It removes noise without hurting the picture too much. The MSI tuner shows you all the noise.

If I captured DVB or DVD, i'd use the CX. If I captured CATV, i'd use the Aver. VHS is a toss up. The s-video into the aver does not remove noise. But it does seem to keep the color seperated better. This is probably a driver thing.

PS: You can use the Pixelview driver on the MSI, you just don't get a tuner then. So there are some driver choices.

Thanks for the replies.

I want to capture video tapes (both NTSC and PAL)

Do these cards (Pixelview and MSI) support both NTSC (720 x 480) and PAL (720 x 576) resolutions ?
