Learning about dvd structures and relations?

I'm somewhat a newbie to the DVD ripping, changing, burning thing. I've done a few DVD9 to DVD5's and main-movie rips. I guess I'm basically looking to learn what does what and how it all relates on a DVD... ifo, vob, cell IDs, etc... I'm not looking for just definitions of these terms. I want to know how they relate to each other so when I edit something I know what must be done next, etc. Any good online places like that? TIA.

On Doom9's main website, if you click on "The Basics" -- you'll find links to 14 different web pages that cover a lot of ground.

Two of those links in particular will get you started:

DVD Structure (http://www.doom9.org/dvd-structure.htm) touches on the VOB IFO (and BUP) relationships, and what's inside each. If that's not enougn, then there is a link to The Official DVD FAQ (http://www.dvddemystified.com/dvdfaq.html), which may give you more than you need or want.

Thanks, but I've been to both and while they do get technical, per se, however they don't touch on overall structures in relation to each other and other fields. I guess I'm simply looking for more. As my friend put it...."what happens elsewhere when I do this here" type of thing. I do thank you anyhow for the links.
