How can I demux PVA files through Project X

right click in the textarea, select add.. pick your pva file, press the go button and you're all set (unless it crashes immediately as it does here).

did you tell the author about it? It's a very helful guyNot yet, but I plan to. At first I wanted to make sure my streams are okay, a fact which I've now been able to ascertain (the latest release of ProjectX can demux those streams).

if you want mpeg4 you could use the update system in DVX, simply select the Projext X package in the update plugin and hit update. After that you have to select Project X in /options/demux/ as default demuxer for DVB and overwrite the default project/profile with /main menu/profile/save standard profile/ otherwise you have to select the demuxer everytime you open a new file. Also java must be specified under /settings/paths/ in case DVX couldn't locate it (because of sun's weird integration)

btw. there are also newer compiles binaries over at:

(latest is Project X 0.81.6_int11 25.01.2004)

How do I use ProjectX to "clean" a non-dvd compliant program stream to become compliant, e.g. change the GOP structure?

This looks like quite a handy application.

But does anybody know if it can import say an 1280x720 60fps (with 2No interlaced fields) Mpeg2 stream and use Project X to create an 30fps stream?

And if so, how do you do it?

Cheers

Thats a good question i was looking for something like this. Is it even possible to change the fps from 60 to 30 without re-encode?

We began development of an easy to use Digital TV recorder for PC in late 2002. It is now pretty full featured and integrates with PVAStrumento / ProjectX / VirtualDub / VirtualDubMod / lame to auto create DIVX/XVID/MP3/OGG after you've recorded (or drag and drop files). It currently supports Hauppauge & Nebula cards, but other cards can be easily added. Either visit www.dtvrecord.com OR try Latest DTVRecord Beta (http://forum.dtvrecord.com/viewtopic.php?t=39)

You can install and run it without a supported DTV card but the record tab will be grayed out. You can still drag and drop mpeg1/2 / avi recordings onto it though for pva/divx/xvid or mp3/ogg for radio recordings.

The vdub/project-x/pva default files can be altered to make it do whatever you want. The quality and size for the divx/xvid codec are manipulated from within DTVRecord. (All divx/xvid params could be altered by DTVRecord but currently aren't to retain simplicity)

man, totally ignoring the fact that projectX is java based,
its still a horrible piece of shit.

The user interface is so counterproductive it took me like 10 minutes
just to figure out what it does, and to find out that it wouldn't do
what I wanted it to do.

timecop,

this is not the language we want here.
You received a double strike for breaking rule #4.

project x > pvastro anyday. pvastro *still* crashes on nasty streams, and has no way near the capabilities of project x.

possibly, but i have absolutely no need for "pvastro" or any of the features of "project x", because there are better, faster tools to deal with the streams I have.

it's not a secret that coders who spend most of their time with algorithms are often totally ignorant with user interfaces :D
