hello everyone, this is my problem,i hope someone knows the answer.
normally if i have an avi,ill load the avi in virtualdubmod, extract the audio(saving the wav),load the wav in besweet(guide) and make 6 mono wav's out of it,that i can use in softencode 2 make dd5.1. however with this avi im having some trouble. the audio in this avi is a vbr audiotrack, instead of a cbr track, i get the wellknown error in vdm, not a problem so far,i can decompress the avi and audio with avi2vcd(decompress.exe included),but it doesnt matter,if i extract the audio with vdm and make the wav and load it into besweet 4 making my 6 wav's,the outcome is very strange. if the normal wav has a length of 1:45, the 6 wav's have a length of 32 minutes,so the wav's r playing 3xtimes the normal speed. so the final question is: how can i make my 6 wav's out of a vbr 2 channel track??? or do i have 2 make it a cbr track first???(havent had any problems so far with cbr tracks),and if i do,how?????? can someone help me with my problem????? thnx in advance

Why the hell do you try to encode a 2 channel file (you didn't mention the format, I suppose it's MP3) to 6 channel AC3? If you want to put that stuff on DVD you'd rather stick with 2 channel AC3 around 192 kBit. You save lots of space, as you gain nothing from 4 empty channels.

Possibly I didn't understand you correctly, but I don't know of a way to do an upmix (2->6) in BeSweet...

well,i just want 2 make from a 2 channel stereo track a dd5.1 track, why??? if u have a actionmovie with lots of effects,it's normal 2 have those effects in the movie 2 hear it,that's why i wanna have dd5.1. it wasnt a problem with several movies 2 make it,the only difference was that those movies had a 2channel CBR track, with besweet u can load the wav and save a output of 6 mono wav's,which u can make a dd5.1 track out of it,but i can't make it out of a 2 channel VBR track, the output is tripple the normal play speed

Well,

I still can't understand why you try to do something like this, but you should take a look at AviMuxGUI by Alex Noe. This program is totally independent of all VirtualDub incarnations and may give you different results. AFAIK VirtualDubMod should handle VBR MP3 correctly, if you choose not to rewrite the MP3 headers.
