Hi,

Am trying to make my first SVCD, but have been having problems. I have created loads of AVIs in the past, but don't have a set top DivX player. Trying to create my first SVCD. I have followed the guide on Doom9, AVI2SVCD Guide. I set up everything as instructed. I am running AVI2SVCD 1.2.1 build 3 and TMPGEnc-2.521.58.169-Free. I clicked on Go, and it started to create the files. I have pasted the log file below. It got to "- Encoding Test Clip E:\DVD2SVCD\Movie\AviSynth_Script_file_CQ_TEST.avs"

And then just stopped. Nothing was happening. Looking in Task Manager, it said TPMG was Not Responding. I waited 30 minutes, still nothing. Then finally I killed TPMG in Task Manager, and it wrote Video Encoding finished to the log!

Any idea why this would occur? I am trying to convert a 55 minute DIVX AVI that I made myself with AC3 sound (192). I am running an Athlon 1.4 with 512 MBs RAM.

Any ideas appreciated.

I killed the process in Task Manager, and..... it made me an SVCD anyway! And since then, on the second SVCD, it didn't happen. The only conclusion I can draw from this is that I should have run TMPG before actually running DVD2SVCD at least once. Some sort of init must have taken place. As soon as I killed it, the batch file continued and my SVCD was made. Since then, I have never seen this problem again.

Live and learn,
