LiteOn 2002: GMC or not?

There seems to be a confusion over whether LiteOn LVD-2002 does support GMC or not. The company website says yes: http://www.liteonamericas.com/us/ce2002_spec.htm, but a web search finds many NOs.
Has anyone tried playing a DivX with GMC on this machine?

Quite a lot of standalones can play DivX GMC encodes but not XviD GMC encodes!

LVD 2001 plays DivXs with no probs - I don't see why 2002 will not

AFAIK 2001 & 2002 are the same machine... one has a slot, one doesnt.

yep, 2002 is without PCMCIA slot but with SCART...
