Welcom to the forum, Nick:

Unfortunately, the topic of your very first post is one that we can't address. Refer to this Announcement (http://forum.doom9.org/announcement.php?s=&forumid=6), located at the top of the Newbies page, and you'll receive a good explanation. Rereading the Forum Rules (http://forum.doom9.org/forum-rules.htm) at this time might also be a good idea.

For backing up your own personal collection, the DVD Backup Guides (http://forum.doom9.org/mpg/dvdbackup-guides.htm) are a good starting point. Hmm, this link isn't currently working, so try this filepath:

Home page > Guides > DVD/miniDVD > DVD backup guides

The established protocol when dealing with the discussion of downloaded files, is to issue an explanation, then close the thread. Although your question is on "hypothetically" downloaded files, I'm still going to close it.

Thread closed.
