Soon the way things are going. I'm dying to get myself but still waiting for one that can burn both DVD-R/DVD+R @ 8 speed and both DVD+RW/DVD-RW @ 4 speed at a decent price.

Doesn't the Pioneer A07/107 and Sony DRU530 run at the speeds you require? Admittedly the Sony needs a firmware patch that will be free of charge in February, but that's no biggie :) <-- famous last words!!

They are a bit pricey by me compared to say LG. Great news over here is that a large distributor is finally bringing in some Liteon's which is excellent news and the prices are good as well.

However, now that LG have anounced they will be releasing a 12x burner soon, so I've decided to wait again.

How are these specs:
The "GSA-4120B" will be able to write all common DVD formats like DVD+R(W), DVD-R(W) and DVD-RAM and of course CD-R(W) as well.

12x will only be achieved with DVD+R media whereas DVD-R will be limited to 8x while DVD+/-RW will only be written with 4x. DVD-RAM will still be written with 3x (because of forced verify only 1.5x)
