hey everybody, kind of new at this. even though i found this forum to be very helpful, i still have a problem with my final product.
the last 10-15 mins of the flick come out with blocks and freezing images. its pretty much hit or miss even though i have tried dvd decryptor, ic8, imgtool, shrink, clone dvd and it continues.
got the lastest firmware for my writer and tried all different types of media, but its no use. i also have 2 standalones, a pioneer and a woxter, both give errors but at different parts of the movie, although it is always at the end. any advice?

Deffinetly sounds like bad DVDR discs. What "different" media have you tried as using two different poor quality discs isn't going to help. I'd highly recomend testing onto a DVD-RW preferably one manufactured by verbatim or tdk.

I still suspect bad media. There's plenty out there!
Look out for the Ritek G04 dye in -R discs. As for the discs you currently have I can only recommend using DVD Shrink to cut down pretty savagely to 3.5GB. Bad media tends to be at its worst towards the outer edge so try not filling the discs completely.

Totalyy agree with nick.

I still think it's bad media. Of all the different types of discs you've tried only one is from an actual manufacturer, and not a good one at that (princo). The rest of them are just 'brands' slapping their lables of discs made buy another manufacturer(s). So essentially they could all be princos.

Nick's suggestion of using 'DVD Shrink to cut down pretty savagely to 3.5GB.' is well worth a try if you want to keep using 'cheap' discs. Also burning at a slower speed may help.
