Pleeeeeease ! Do you know a tool to fix bad M2V files ?

Hello,
I'm desperately looking for a tool to
fix a bad M2V file.
It seems that this file has a wrong header or
something because I can't open it in any editing
software. In fact, this file is the second part of a split from
a bigger file , but I don't have the full original M2V anymore.

What can I do to fix this ?

This drives me crazy !

remultiplex with TMPG or bbmpeg ?

maybe you'd need to use some wav file (any wav file) to fool TMPG into multiplexing it into an MPG and the demultiplex the M2V?

no luck ! I've just tried that and it says "Illegal Mpeg video stream"... Maybe I should try to edit the header, but I have no
idea how to do it, and what to change inside it...

If the first part does not have problems, may be the problem is the cut point.

Try joining again the two parts, with copy /b or with filemerger

the first part was OK, but I deleted it because it was too big.
I've looked at the thread you put in the link but it didn't
help much...it is mainly focused on vobs. I've tried restream
but it doesn't work...maybe I should try different settings...

On top of that, I just realised that I have a corrupt AC3
stream as well...It seems that it's Smartripper's fault...
When I try to convert it to Wave with headache, I have a message
saying it's corrupt at about one third of the conversion process...

So I've tried to use Winamp + AC3 plugin to convert to wave
but although I chose the diskwriter output, It doesn't write
it to wave, it just plays it as normal...Then I tried with an MP3 file : it's working (it outputs the MP3 to a wave file)...So why doesn't it work with AC3 (even
not corrupt ones) ?

BeSweet can usually convert corrupt AC3 files to WAV, even if HeadAC3he chokes on them.

Corrupted ac3 files can usually be fixed without conversion (loseless, framewise mode) with many programs. AFAIK, Besweet in -payload mode is also able to do it, but IMHO, the most easy way (simply drag & drop) is using BeSliced (another useful DSPGuru's tool).

But be aware about discarded frames. One frame is about 30 msec (more or less), so if more than one or two frames are discarded, audio/video delay will be noticeable.
