OK, in a earlyer thread i read if you use dif4u > cce/docce4u > reauthorist(script only). So i gave it ago, as i have had a disc come out oversized once when going dif4u > RA > CCE, but instead the disc came up very undersized, it is 4.02GB. The film im backing up is ' Returner '. Theres no extras on the disc apart from a couple of trailers. The film is 1H 50M long, it has 19 sub tracks and 4 DD5.1 audio tracks(jap, eng, italian, and spanish). So i keep all the subtracks, and i untick the italian and spanish audio and i keep just the jap and english audio.
Dif4u gave me a avg. of 3709, but the DVDCalc under utilities give a .avg of 4125(same avg as ra gives). Both gave a max of 8904. So what's gone wrong with the calculation. The avg that dif4u gave in the CCEdata.txt looks as if its a avg. for if i kept all 4 audio tracks.
Oh as i said theres 19 sub tracks in bmp form and theres one .sub which is 39mb, i take it that the sub track is the size of all the subtracks combined.

What bitrate does ReAuthorist give? I've noticed that DIF4U sometimes gives bitrates that don't make sense, but I"ve never had an issue with ReAuthorist's calucations. What I do is load up ReAuthorist like I would to encode, get the bitrate correct, and then hit 'Encode'. HOwever, it doesn't start encoding right away, and then when I make my massive batch file to process (3-4 movies at a time), I just load up the *NewDoCCE.txt and I"m off. Give it a try, like I said, ReAuthorist has always been dead on for me.

That how i use it dif4u > ra > encoding. I just tryed it the other way round dif4u > encoding > ra for script as in a post it was said it was more acreate.I had one disc once come out oversized, but the subs took up alot.As some pal dvds have loads of subs in.
RA gave a avg of 4197, dif4u gave a avg of 3709.As i said it seems dif4u gave a avg. that would be used if i kept all 4 audio tracks.
The DVDcalc in utilities gave 4125.

if they keep comming up oversized, you could just have Reauthorist use a different Ceiliing size, so instead of 4700000000 use 4680000000

They dont keep comming out oversized, just happened once time back and i have RA set to 4680000000.
All i wanna know is why dif4u gave me a low avg that ended up in my project being 4.02GB instead of ending up 4.35GB.

Same problem here!
Hey .. I tried to backup my copy of Underworld .. came across the same problem (it came out to 2.78 gigs) .. i did a 5 pass at 2308 (i know it's low, but it's a backup for a crappy TV anyhow) lol I stripped out the bonus featurettes (kept some of the trailers) .. all the extras i did at 2100 (7 passes).
Also .. I'm wondering (maybe someone else may know) .. the VIDEO_TS.VOB file usually has the 10-15 second trailer for the company (Columbia Pictures etc.,) .. I noticed that after the compression is done, the trailer is missing (there was no option for it anywhere to get it). Is there anyway that I could actually add that trailer to the beginning without destroying the structure of the DVD?
Thanks in advance .. we GOTTA figure this one out lol
