DVD2SVCD stops encoding..HELP!

Hey, im fairly new to the making of SVCD's. I have been using DivX avi files to start with and have used TMPGenc. but people over the internet are telling me that DVD2SVCD and CCE are better. So i tried them out. I followed the guide "DiVX (AVI) to (S)VCD using DVD2SVCD By: LeeBear"DiVX (AVI) to (S)VCD using DVD2SVCD By LeeBear (http://www.dvdrhelp.com/forum/userguides/111846.php) and had set everything the way he did.

Now, when i start to convert, everything seems to go well, but after it opens CCE, and does two things, one with the audio, and one with the video, (i think, i dont really know whats happening) and then it stops, nothing happens. it doesnt crash or freezes or anything, it just stops doing anything. My log file in DVD2SVCD stops are "AVS END" or something like that, and i'm left with all these wierd files, (none are mpeg files, something close though..) when i open them, one of them is the video without the audio, and then a separate audio file. Is there a way i continue the conversion? i've tried multiple times and it always ends there.

Hi and welcome to the forum!

Your problem is the folowing:

You use CCE Trial version. Am I right? ;-)
The trial ver cannot load project files.

DVD2SVCD works like this:
Creates a CCE project file (this contains what to encode and with what parameters). This is a text file, so can be created easily even with notepad. then launches CCE and opens the created project. Your problem is here, becouse D2S can not open the created project file with CCE.

Solution 1 : buy. (about $50)

jusane - why on earth would you be using that guide !?!?!

it's horribly outdated, overly complicated and in some cases simply wrong, at least for today's D2S - like using VD (not even vdmod, which means it wouldn't even work for some audio streams) to decompress and resample the sound - a sure way to reduce quality

now regarding CCE, like Manngo said, there are certain steps that need to be taken in order to use it in D2S. but worry not, there's a special thread just for that - http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=50287

please note that the latter is a sticky, which you were supposed to read according to the rules :p no harm done, just make sure to check stickies out in the future. trust me, they help ALOT
