Ripped one of my DVD 9 disks and ended up with a 2.5gb wav (1536kbs, 2 channel, at least that whats DOIF4U reported) file which left very little room for movie, using DOIF4U, no other sound on disk. So I encoded the wav to ac3 in scenarist (now 300k, much better), put it all back together, tried it on pc dvd player, all fine, but when I burnt it to disk and played in standalone, no sound, not a whisper.
I also tried again using soft encode to get the ac3, nothing on standalone again. Its all in sync when played on the pc dvd player, no problems at all. My standalone plays pretty much anything (pioneer dv-360) and I've got a half decent sony amp and I just can't get any sound out (btw, sound from untouched menus works fine, its just the re-authored stuff that dosent play).
Can't say I know much about sound. I used 2 channel 192kb for the ac3 file. It said something like 16pcm 48khz when I created the ac3.
Any ideas, things I can try, settings in scenarist?
