corrupted movies with CloneDVD

Hello!

I´m using Elaborate Bytes "CloneDVD", and it and the dvd
it produces has worked fine, until now that is.

The last 5 dvd´s I have backed up (of a total av 30 dvd´s),
has some strange corruptions, like this for example:

It isn´t like that for the whole movie, but sometimes
it appeares. The medium(disc) is fine, no scratches etc.
It appeares both on standalone players and pc.
I also tried to copy the files from the disc to the
harddrive of the pc(where I took the screen dump),
but the problem is visible even there, so it seems that it´s
the movie it self, not the disc, that is faulty.

Some comments?
The CloneDVD version is 1.3.11.2 and I see any update
last time I checked...

If you have a registered version of clone dvd you can ask for it at cdfreaks.com clonedvd forum and the moderator send it to you ...;)

Hope it will fix the problem, it´s a superb program, or so I think.

A bit off-topic, which of all these "One click backup"-programs are most popular? I´ve tried shrinkDVD, CloneDVD and some shit called "D.S.C" or so, and that I didn´t like at all.

It's called D.C.S (DVD Copy Suite). Its transcoder is DVD95Copy with a different wrapper. DVD95Copy has been one of the better transcoders.

Not sure about this, but i don't think it has a lot to do with the encoder. I have seen this a lot on lesser quality media..

Ofcourse i can be wrong, but did you play it from you HD or from DVD ?
And if you play it from you PC-drive, does it also appear on the exact same place ?

Pardon me for jumping in on your thread. BUT recently I had the exact same problem, except with Instant Copy 8.0

I was an owner of IC 7 and never had the problem. And then for every movie I treid with IC 8 I had corruption.

I am running a 1.4 GHz AMd, 1.3 gigs of ram, with 80 gig HD 7200 RPM. Running Win XP

At first I thought perhaps my computer is too slow, or lagging and causes this corruption.

I tested this theory in 2 ways.
First I ran Windows XP with every other program closed, nothing was running on my desktop besides bare essentials. I even installed a 2nd HD to hold the DVD image, and defragged my original harddrive.
But to no avail. Same problem. Random corruption as your picture displays. I played around with 1 DVD (Insomnia (Region 1 Full Screen)) for a week. I created about a dozen backups using IC 8.
I played them all on my computer by mounting the Instant Copy Image on InstantDrive. I then watched the movie for a few minutes, and usually within 20 minutes I would see corruption. Never in the same spot, always random. this meant to me it was not the DVD drive or DVD media error, since I was mounting the Instant Copy Image.

OK so now I still had the problem.
I then proceeded to boot up my computer in safe mode. I then ran Instant Copy. It took about 60 minutes longer to transcode the movie, but the final product worked flawlessly. No data coruption. beautiful images.

Now again, I am sorry for invading someone else's thread. BUT this is the closest Ive seen to anyone having a similar problem. For me every movie I did with Instant Copy 8 had corruption randomly in the movie. I tried all the patches. I even toggled with the hidden settings, and turned off image display while the movie is transcoding. No help. As mentioned the only solution for me as been running Win XP in Safe Mode.

Anyone else have similar IC problems? Or am I just the only one?
