AC3 question

Can someone point me to tool that will tell me what the audio delay is in a .AVI ?

sometimes the dd audio on a dvd will have a delay, say 120ms, and then when you make the divx/xvid you tell virtualdub or whatever to put a delay in as well.

I want to make a DVD out of a XVID with AC3 sound, but when i demux the ac3 it doesn't tell me what the delay is, and i am pretty sure there is one

Hi and welcome to the forums -

There is no delay in an AVI file, as long as you encoded it in sync. If you didn't, there is no way of objectively determining the sync, so you'll need to rerip from the source.
