Hey ViRuS2k, hope you've stopped selling DVDRs ;)

I would have thought you'd have to use menuedit to remap buttons.

It is possible to remap in MenuEdit but I believe you need the registered version though. Another option is to treat that trailer menu like a aspect ratio menu and use this guide (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=67564) so that when you press your trailers menu in main menu, your theatrical trailer will play afterwards. I haven't done it yet but I'm still thinking what happens when the trailer ends. Possibly, a fix in that trailer's post command to jump you back to main menu must be done. ;)

Since IFOEdit doesn't Rip or compress I don't know why you would throw away all those programs... But IFOEdit is absolutely essential...

For sure dude...

hmmm well when you do it if its easy let me know i have all the tools needed.

menu edit : 3.2.0 registered.
dvd2one 1.40 registered
ifo edit
dvd shrink

whatever is needed i usaly have it somewhere :)

lets start with the button remap to the trailer in question
as explained above i tryed useing menu edit and i located the trailer menu in vts 5_0 ID 5 i clicked edit on the button and located the hex i copyed it and then i located the trailer button in the special features menu and tryed to remap the hex on to the button but when i tryed to copy it into the buttons edit box hex would not copy or delete

am i doing something wrong ? there must be a better way to find the location other than useing hex as i dont think its allowed.

I'm curious to know what your hex value is for your theatrical button and what your PGC Command Table looks like for your Trailers menu that's on.

With above said, try it out. Make a copy of your menu VOB before doing so if in case, it doesn't you can copy your original over your edited one.

Ok changed the hex command from the start trailer movie hex to the trailers button on the main menu...

well we are getting somewhere now but for some reason the main movie started when i hit the trailers button lol

it should have been the trailer ????? got any idea`s ?

UPDATE :

ok what it does it when i click the trailer button it jumps to title 3 chapter 1 for 2 seconds (WARNING SCREEN OR DISCLAIMER)

then jumps to title 1 chapter 1 Main Movie !

i wonder could it be its not jumping to the trailer becuse its reading the warning first then jumping to the next cell wich would be the main movie ?

How about we bypass that trailers menu? See this guide (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=67564)? It's the same concept. You already have a registered MenuEdit and you also have your hex value, [71 01 00 0E 10 09 00 0D], for step 8. Give a try. ;)

10. What's your Menu #?

If you're dealing with a VTS_*_0.IFO then go to VTS Overview and scroll all the way down to the bottom and you’ll see your Language Menu Units (LMU) section.
If it’s the VIDEO_TS.IFO, then go to VMG Overview and scroll down to bottom to LMU.

Remember your VobID you got in step 5? Well, for this example, my VobID is 15 and what I need to know is what menu it is associated with. In my example below, that would be Menu 6. Write your Menu # down. You’ll be jumping to PGC-Menu_# in the next step.

PGC-Menu_#: _______

code:--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Language Menu Unit 1: [English]
Menu 1: [Root-Menu] (entry PGC)(Programs: 4) (Cells: 4) (uses VOB-IDs: 1,2,3,4)
Menu 2: [Audio Menu] (entry PGC)(Programs: 2) (Cells: 2) (uses VOB-IDs: 5,6)
Menu 3: [entry only] (Programs: 6) (Cells: 5) (uses VOB-IDs: 11,12,13,14,4)
Menu 4: [entry only] (Programs: 0) (Cells: 0)
Menu 5: [entry only] (Programs: 22)(Cells: 5) (uses VOB-IDs:7,8,9,10,4)
Menu 6: [entry only] (Programs: 1) (Cells: 1) (uses VOB-IDs: 15)
Menu 7: [entry only] (Programs: 2) (Cells: 2) (uses VOB-IDs: 6,16)--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You need Step 5's info for Step 10. Use MenuEdit browse through all your cells that have buttons and look for your trailers menu. When you found it, jot down the cell id and Vob id.

also i dont know where to locate the button ? Step 7 tells you how to do it. Have your button called "theatrical trailer" highlighted.

is this what you where talking about above ???? Besides, VOB ID 5, are there are other sources of CELL ID 0: 0 Buttons? I was going to say stick with VOB ID: 5 CELLID: 1 but can't confirm if that's a intro to your trailer's menu or not. MenuEdit doesn't have the feature to preview a whole motion menu as is.

Step 6 shouldn't be confusing. Doesn't it say to look for just "CellID: # (0 Buttons)"? I did also write a disclaimer on 0 button cells. It nice if you can find one that fits the description as it is the quicker method later on when replacing your trailer menu with a blank menu. If not, we may have to abort this "dummy menu" quest and go for using a blank VOB as the guide explains leter on.

I believe you are confusing yourself on the real definition of "ripping" and "stripping". Ripping is defined as the act of getting your files off your DVD unto your harddrive. Stripping means the removal of unwanted stuff out of your files after it has been ripped. Hmmm, this could get complicated when explaining to you but you can also "strip" out your audio and subtitle streams while you are "ripping" to HD. Anyways, IfoEdit IS NOT a ripper like DVD Decrypter. There's a reason why it's called "IFO" edit(IfoEdit). ;)

This Language Menu Unit DOESN'T even have a VOB ID of 5.

I have a problem with me trying to help you and that is you don't know the basics yet on what is what. Do you know what a VOB, Titleset, Title, PGC, etc... is? Please make an effort to learn the terminalogies. You could start somewhere like these links I have provided.

http://www.manifest-tech.com/links/dvd_glossary-m-z.htm
http://www.dvd-replica.com/DVD/index.php
http://www.doom9.org/dvd-structure.htm

I hate to be direct but it's hard to help a person with a sentence when one doesn't know what a noun is. In your post, you've shown me VTS_05. I think you are confusing yourself again by thinking VOB ID 5 is VTS_05. It is not the same.

I can still help you out the best that I can but we have been straying off the path too much with me trying to explain stuff that I have already pointed out in the guide. The guides I write were suppose to keep me from repeating myself. ;)

Go to VTS_05_0.IFO / VTSM_PGCI_UT / PGC-Menu_4 / PGC Command Table. Of course, you are now back to using IfoEdit. Now do you see what the PGC Command Table is?

As long as you know that the buttons are the same regardless of the background. Cell ID 3 may be just a continuation of Cell ID 2. Anyways, going back to your VTS_05's Language Menu Unit...

We have about 10 minutes to work on this as I have to meet some friends at the club. I'm really craving for a pitcher of cold dark lager right now.

20. Remember the CellID # you got in step 5? This ID # refers to the cell in this section. For example, if you wrote down a “4” then go to Cell_4.

sorry about that Geffroman!

I knew that... But rather than debate with you I was trying to help you see that although IFOEDIT is AWESOME and does cool stuff it does not replace DVDSHRINK or Pinnacle or RIPping software... Just didn't want you or others to get the wrong idea about what these different programs do for you...

Just trying to help you get there...

Huggz & kisses...

i got way confused mate that night.

lets start a fresh ok as its easy that way for me.
basicly i have striped out the audio tracks and trailers
apart from 1 trailer the main movie trailer.

i want the menu trailers button to startup the trailer instead of going to the trailers menu as all the other trailers are stripped out. there is no need anymore to link to that page so thats what i need help with cheers.
