OK, I searched but did not find what I am looking for. My apologies if I missed it. Is there a simple way to use rejig WITH the big 3 to just do the extras, and let CCE still reencode the main movie?
I usually reencode all extras at 1500 Kbps and do a 5x reencode with CCE, but of course that takes forever, and I usually don't really care THAT much about the quality of extras.
Just a' pondering.....

a rejig batch file is generated when doitfast4u is done.. just load that into rejig (rejig.txt i think) and delete the main movie from the list of items. then hit go
i dunno if target size issues have been resolved with rejig yet (1500 is hard for a transcoder to hit) check the thread in oneclick forum to make sure

OK, but if I do that, I lose all the auto-calculation functions of Reauthorist, don't I? Or will the 1500 transcoded rejig files be the exact same size as 1500 reencoded files, so I could just delete all the extras from the job list that reauthorist spits out, and use the rejig options instead? I think I am missing some critical step.
If I use DIF4U, then rejig for extras, what do I have to do in reauthorist to have it size the main movie, then give me a script to reconstruct the rejigged extras and the resampled main move in scenarist?
Up until rejig, I was fairly comfortable with this all, even manual pgc editing. Now with rejig I am a bit lost again.....
Any advice?

i dont believe that the final size of your rejigged extras will be accurate enough for you to use RA to correctly size your main movie. a safer option would be to use rejig on the extras and then use the DIF4U calculator to work out the bitrate based on the FINAL size of your extras, not the predicted sizes. for an example of how to do this you can check out trilights site. he details the process in the uberguide in the steps after reauthoring your extras in scenarist.
although...
iirc rejig will produce very bad results for transcodes greater than 50% of the original, particularly when the source is of 'lesser' quality, as most extras are. (anyone is welcome to prove otherwise)
as for RA creating the script for you, i think its a simple case of renaming your 'rejigged' files to conform with RAs naming schemes, and they should import into scenarist in the same way.
....as a point for discussion, i would think that a more appropriate use of rejig would be in a situation where, following the use of CCE on your extras, the main movie only needed to be 'shrinked' by about 85 -90 % (possibly lower depending on the quality of the original). that would reduce your overall encode time considerably, depending on the number of passes you usually do in CCE for your main movie.

OK, good point. All things I thought of, I guess I was trying to use rejig like ReMPEG, which it is not. I just need to reconsider my purpose for using rejig. I have used it quite successfully to take VOB's down 5-10%, which is what I will do in the future.
Thanks!
