View Full Version : HE-AAC, can't find NeroIIP.dll
Doobie

The AAC audio guide says to copy aac.dll, aacend32.dll and NeroIIP.dll to the Besweet folder. I have a recent version of Nero, and I can find two of those files, but where's NeroIIP?
Incidently, when I tried to create an AAC file with Oag machine, it produced a 128Kb/s MP3 file with the MP4 extension.

Hi -
For my install NeroIPP.dll is in \Program Files\Common Files\Ahead\Lib\. Did you check there?

Thank you. I hope that helps.
NeroIPP.dll is not NeroIIP
\program...\lib\ is also not the source location given in the guide.
I don't have the oppertunity right now to test, but if this is right, the AAC guide needs a correction.

Actually from Nero 60023 version you don't need to put NeroIPP.dll into besweet folder. From this version onwards, the other dlls check registry for path of neroIPP. Because of the same, for aac encoding you need a valid nero installation. So copying these dlls won't work with out a nero installation.
Hope that helps....

The Nero/HE-AAC guide definitely needs a correction. I gave up trying to find that dll and just started using Nero Wave Editor for HE-AAC encoding. Works perfectly.

I also ended up here looking for NeroIIP.dll
For a VP6 + AAC = MKV, I am trying to encode an AC3 to AAC using OagMachine 0.11 according to the Doom9 (http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/oagmachine.htm) guide.
I have Nero 6.3.0.0 and have Aac.dll and aacend32.dll copied to BeSweet directory but I still dont see: Set plugin path as in here: here (http://www.doom9.org/images/oagmachine/oagmachine-aacconfig.gif)
Any help would be appreciated. :)
Thanks,
McoreD

That option is not required or is useless. ( The plugin path is not accepted by besweet/bsn....so that the option was removed in later version of BeSweet GUI )
Hope that helps....:)

Thanks Tuning.
Can you also please guide me how to do AC3 to AAC (to 5.1 VBR) in OagMacine according to the Doom9 Guide (http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/oagmachine.htm)?
If I just press "Give me AAC!" it outputs a 128 Kbps CBR AAC file. I cannot see anywhere in OagMachine how to configure it to output ~192 Kbps VBR AAC.
Cheers.

i think the guide is clear:
Since an external encoder is used, you'll have to use its configuration screen to configure the output, so check Show Configuration Dialog. Otherwise, the defaults of the encoder are taken

Thanks for pointing out that, Bond. :)
I didn't notice that we had to actually go to Nero Burning ROM program and change configuration of the plugin from there. My bad.

i think the guide makes it clear: simply check the "show config dialog" in oagmachine, after pushing gimme aac the nero config dialog will be displayed where you can set your settings

I expected that to happen but surprisingly it displays the DOS screen straightaway and starts encoding.
It's okay Bond, :) thanks for your help. I am happy with going to Nero Burning ROM program and changing configuration of the plugin.
EDIT: (after finished encoding).
Some bad news. :(
It produced a 128Kb/s MP3 file with the MP4 extension. Just like for Doobie.

works here like a charm, i used latest besweet, oagmachine and latest nero dlls
i tried both stereo and multichannel
as nero is a commercial encoder, you need of course a licensed copy, otherwise it will only work 30 days or so

McoreD, could you post the besweet log file...so that we could track where is problem....
You can also try BeSweet GUI with same settings......:)
PS: If you are familiar with foobar2000, then the easiest way of ac3 to aac transcoding is with using fb2K's diskwriter as mentioned by tiki4 in this (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=67746) thread.:)

I never understand why people bother themselves with this bloated GUIs... Really, not everything needs a GUI to work properly.
@McoreD:
Try the following (and get a happier man):
1) Install (preferably latest) Nero.
2) Just put aac.dll and aacenc32.dll to your BeSweet folder (as was mentioned several times).
3) besweet -core( -input in.ac3 -output %path%\out.mp4 -logfile BeSweet.log ) -azid( -n1 -c normal -L -3db -g max ) -bsn( -2ch -config )
or
besweet -core( -input in.ac3 -output %path%\out.mp4 -logfile BeSweet.log ) -azid( -c normal -g max ) -bsn( -6chnew -config )
If you want to correct for a delay add a section of the form '-ota( -d delay )' to your command line.
Cheers,
tiki4
P.S.: Ah, I forgot to mention that bsn.dll stores the configuration of the AAC encoder in the same place in registry as nencode.exe, but this is not the place Nero Burning ROM stores its settings, thus changing the settings in Nero does not help.

Thanks Tunining and tiki4 for your replies. I tried both GUI and command prompt. And I also tried both AacMachine and OagMachine. I have Nero 6.3.0.0 Ultra Edition installed, also have aac.dll and aacenc32.dll copied to BeSweet dir.
For some weird reason it is not using the AAC encoder and using LAME instead. BeSweet.log (http://mcored.2minnoodle.net/downloads/bin/BeSweet.log)
I will give foobar a go. :)

Hihi,
you need foo_nero.dll then. Otherwise, post your log-files, so we can troubleshoot you!

mcored, it seems you are using besweet 1.4
as i said use the latest besweet version, which is 1.5b26! :)

That's exactly right, Bond. :)
Much appreciated you guys' help.
I was being using latest stable version and didn't realise I need the latest build version like you said.
Finally, I managed to get a MPEG-4 AAC file, Sample rate: 44100 Hz, Channels: 6.
Cheers,
McoreD.
P.S: I guess Doobie must have the same problem.

Now all we've got to do is convince you to put these streams into an MP4 container instead of say, MKV ;)

Why convince ?...why MP4 and not MKV ?
Both are good, both have advantages and disadvantages.
I think that's a matter of taste, or ?
I prefer Matroska!

Since MP4 cannot handle VP6 according to the FAQ (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=62723) , I am using MKV. Can we actually use VP6 in MP4? I wouldn't mind any container that could wrap AAC and VP6 together. Any container other than AVI and WMV are new to me. :)

I'm sorry McoreD I miss read one of your posts and assumed you were going to start using Mpeg4 video instead of VP6...
Cheers

storing vp6 in mp4 would be possible
for this you would need to set a private track ID, which can be seen as something similar like the FourCC system in avi (every codec uses an own 4cc...)
still i really dislike such a solution as it hurts interoperability a lot, also no tool exists which would allow you to do this
