ifoedit and some mpeg

Hello; probably it's a faq (so let me know where can I get the answer) but I need to convert some mpeg files to vobs to create my own dvd with nero.

I'm using ifoedit and authoring dvd function; it works very well (it create vob and all other files need for nero) but it can convert only one mpeg at time.

How can convert several mpeg to one vob file?

or

how can I merge ifo/vob/etc files generated from authoring dvd function?

Hi! Welcome to Doom9's Forum! :D
First of all, you can join your mpegs only if they have the same audio/video features (aspect ratio, number of audio channels...).
If they are OK, create all the VOBs like you've already done.
Then have a look at this thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=58041) that explains how to join VOBs with VOBEdit (http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/Vobtools/Vobedit06.zip) and to recreate new IFOs with IFOEdit.
But if your mpegs (and so your VOBs) have different A/V features, try to join them with DVD Shrink (http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/Vobtools/dvdshrink313setup.zip): it will create a multiple VTS DVD, but the VTSs will be selectable and linked, so they'll automatically play one after the other.
If your mpegs are different but you don't like this DVD Shrink way, I'm afraid you'll have to reencode them.

My problem is a free space problem on HD, too!
If I use DVDShrink or Vobmerge, I need vobs x 2 space on HD.

However, I did some tests, and I always get a DVD in whch the time left (as display on dvdplayer) is not correct; or, better, it is the time left of one of the vobs, not all the dvd, and sometimes (with fast forwarding) my dvd player stops itself because time left is zero, but it's not true... there are other vobs after this!

How can I edit this time (using Ifoedit) after re-creating ifo files with ifedit? is it possible?

It's OK, since you have 2 titlesets the DVD player will display the time for each one, not for the 2 of them together (as if they were 2 different films, and they actually are, from the DVD structure point of view...).
For the same reason you can't fast forward from the first one to the second one, nor directly skip to the second one with the next button on your remote controller.
If you want to solve these problems you definitely have to use VOBEdit and create new IFOs with IFOEdit.
Otherwise you can use an encoding tool to append your second mpeg to the first one, then use the resulting mpeg with IFOEdit to author your VOBs and you're done! ;)

If you have, let say, 3 vobs, you have to rename them this way:
VTS_01_001.VOB
VTS_01_002.VOB
VTS_01_003.VOB
Then open the first one in VOBEdit and click Edit ---> Join Clips.
You'll be prompted to choose the name and location of the resulting vob.
It asks also the VOB ID you want your VOB to start with, but for you 1 is OK. Let VOBEdit process your vobs and that's all :)
After that you'll have to create new IFOs.
