Serious problems with burned DVDs

Hello Everybody.
I have recently backuped some of my favourite DVD movies using the DVD Shrink method described in the guides I found on this site.
During the process everything was ok. But when I tried to play the DVD-videos on my DVD player, they always block at the same chapter of the movie. I intend that, fo example, with "A Man Apart", it always blocks on the sixth chapter, and there's no way to keep it going on. I tryed on my laptop, and it does the same. It makes the system crash! I played it on my normal PC and it is absolutely the same!
So I burned a second copy of the film, at lower burning speed, and using a different DVD (TDK). I get always the same problems!

ANd this happens also with other movies!
I also asked friends to try with their DVD players or computers, the DVD, and everybody says that there a problem with the discs.
Why?
What could be the cause?
Does anybody know how could I fix the problem?
What procedures should I take when making a backup of my DVDs, in order to burn a working DVD-video film?

Hmm, what I would do is try to view the movie on your hard drive first. DVD Shrink will output the "shrunk" DVD to your hard drive. Use PowerDVD or WinDVD or another DVD software program to play the DVD from the hard drive. Does it lock up in the same place? If it doesn't then you can usually (note, usually) rule out DVD Shrink or its process. Normally, that leaves the DVD media you are using, the drive, or the DVD writing software.

If it does lock up when viewing the movie from the hard drive, then it could have been a problem with the mastering of the original DVD. Rip the DVD to your hard drive in File Mode using DVD Decrypter (instead of having DVD Shrink do it on the fly). Open the VIDEO_TS.IFO file with IfoEdit and click the "Get VTS Sectors" button and answer Yes to opening all the files. If all the files open and you get no message boxes appear, then the original DVD was fine. If you get messages pop up, then there may have been problems with the original DVD and IfoEdit just corrected them. Run DVD Shrink now and test the output after DVD Shrink is done shrinking that fixed version.

Thanx a lot for your advice!
I will try that as soon as I get my new 240gB Hard Drive(maximum in four days), because I have no free space avaiable at the moment.
I will try to view the DVD from the HD, and starting from there I will analitically eliminate all possible processing error causes.
I'll try to verify the movie with IFO-Edit.
When I've done with that I'll post a message to let you know how dit it work.

If you HD is to full, that could be your problem. also I recommend buying like a pack of 5 RW's for testing till you get it going:) saves on the coasters! every time a new version comes out I always do a few test on RW's:cool:
