Hi everyone,

I'm having some troubles with MPC (last version) in windows XP. I'm running on a Pentium III 800 Mhz with 320 Ram. I switch from bsplayer to MPC over a year ago because it had smoother playback for DivX/XviD files. But for about a month, with latest builds of MPC i'm having jerky playback with every video file. Strange, but with bsplayer 1.0 i don't have any jerky playback.

It doesn't matter which container i'm using (MKV, OGM, AVI, etc..) nad what A/V codec. I start noticing that over december last year (i don't remember what build it was), but i just had to Ctr-Alt-Del and assign high priority to mplayerc.exe and everything was fine. But now it doesn't resolvev anything. Even closing all running programs doesn't stop the problem. I was thinking that this was a directshow filter, so i reinstall all the usual stuff (OGM Dsfilter, Matroska, VSfilter, Corevorbis, etc... and ffdshow last alpha to decode). Same thing again. FFdshow settings are the defaults, but i check XviD ITC.

So, to make sure i play the same file with other player: bsplayer 1.0. And to my surprise, using same settings for ffdshow, play without prblems, really smooth. But as it doesn't handle very well subtitles in Matroska files it's not what i'm looking for :)

Is anyone experiencing the same problem? Does latest MPC builds need more CPU ressources?

Thanks a lot.
Regards.

I also have this problem but I really don't know when it appeared. It only happens if I am using Overlay Mixer in MPC. BSPlayer Overlay 1 mode seems to differ from the usual Overlay Mixer, that's why the playback isn't jerky. MPC plays fine in VMR9 mode but the picture looks sort of bright/greenish color.
