Hi

I would like to back up my Father Ted series 3. I am going to split it to 2 disks, episode 1-4 on first disk and episode 5-8 on the second disk.

Is there a way to create a menu so I can choose which episode to watch on each disk instead of just playing 1 episode after the other and skipping forward to the episode I want to watch.

Cheers

Look into DVD Lab (http://www.mediachance.com/dvdlab/) and TMPGenc DVD Author (http://www.pegasys-inc.com/en/index.html). Both have 30 day full trials. ;)

You could try DVDShrink (free). When you back up 1-4 set 5-8 to still images and vice versa for 5-8. You'll probably end up with enough space then. Or you could try Ifoedit to split, it's a little more complicated but works great, read through the guides and forums to learn how.
These 2 ways allow you to keep the original menus.

Thanks for the response.

I will try the DVD shrink method as I'm fairly new to this as this seems easier at the moment.

Also, you might want to check out the program MenuEdit. It lets you remove unwanted (unused buttons). So on one disc1 with episodes 1-4 you could remove the buttons to 5-8 which are stills, and never know they exist. Link (http://menuedit.dimad.net./home.html)
2COOL covers MenuEdit in some of his guides.
