can't decode Ogg Vorbis with BeSweet 1.4

Transcoding ogg to ogg produces the attached error log and crashes after ~2 seconds.
What's going on? I want to reencode OGG's to lower-bitrate OGG's to take on trips and such, and the program won't let me. Also, you should add ogg => mp3 so I can use OGG's more easily on MP3 players and such.

Good question. Just use "-lame ( --alt-preset 160 )" instead of "-ogg ( -q x.xx )" in your commandline, replacing 160 with whatever bitrate you want.

Hi,
is there any way to reencode Vorbis 5.1 to for example MP3? I tried BeSweet but it crashes with no error message. I also tried other apps that should convert Vorbis (I am not sure if they can handle 6ch, they recognize the right number of the channels though) to WAV with no success.

Please post your BeSweet logfile. You could also try one of the Vorbis decoding/encoding GUIs from RareWares (http://rarewares.hydrogenaudio.org/ogg.html).

I was trying to transcode an ogg audio file to wav using BeSweet 1.4 and it keeps crashing about 1 min and 46 seconds :( I tried using BeSweet 1.5 but that kept crashing before it even started the job!!! It just gave me a blank log file!!
Any ideas why? Here's the log file that it created with BeSweet 1.4 as BeSweet 1.5 wouldn't even transcode one second of the file :(

file plays perfectly on windows media player...I demuxed this from a movie using VirtualDub Mod...and the funny thing is that the first part of the movie (indian movie) was demuxed perfectly and I was able to transcode it perfectly but the second part is giving me problems :(

I just checked out the site you gave me...It still doesn't decode. One program keeps crashing and the other says that it's not a valid Ogg Stream file..but if i Hex Edit it...the file IS an OGG file and it says it's encoded by BeSweet 1.4 :S....
