Question: How to disable SVCD compliance in Nero 6?

In Nero 5.5 I was able to disable SVCD compliance, but after recently upgrading to Nero 6 (directly from Nero website) I have not been able to find a way to disable SVCD\DVD compliance. Does anyone know if disabling compliance is possible in nero 6, or suggest a nero6 workaround\hack? I have a short 720x480 home video (converted to MPEG2 from DV with TMPGenc Plus 2.521) that I want to place on a SVCD because my DVD player will play non compliant SVCDs fine.

If there is an better forum for this question let me know; I have searched an answer on Doom9, but have seen this question\answer posted.

Thx

Welcome to the forum!

No replies in Newbies, so I'll send this over to the burning forum where someone has most likely seen this and can help you out. Good luck!

NERO didn't like the video file because of the structure of the MPEG2 video. So I ran it through TMPGenc's MPEG tools and then nero 6 accepted it just fine. Once it was encoded with the proper headers and whatever, the option to disable SVCD compliance did appear (non compliant because the mpeg2 file was 720 x 480).

I don't understand exactly what Nero didn't like about the MPEG2 stream before I ran it TMPGenc tools, but that did the job.

Some Mpeg coders seam to put a lot of space in the front of the file - Nero does not like this - this might have been your problem. Try using a hex editor and get rid of all the "OO"'s from the front of the file next time (Back up first!!)
