virtualdub(mod) just disapears during xvid-encoding

I tried doing xvid encodes with vdubmod and often durign the encoding (at the end of the first pass?) vdubmod just disapears [same for normal vdub]
the programs and the codec are all newest verion
is this a known problem (with a known solution)?
or should i make a bug report? [to whom?]

The same thing happened to me (although at the middle of the encode, not at the end of the pass) when I used adaptive quantization. Once I turned it off, everything worked fine.

which version of vdub(mod) are you using?
have a look at the last few pages of the 'Selam' thread, similar problems have been mentioned before
try using vdub(mod) 1.5.4.1

Could you empty AviSynth's plugin-dir and try again?

i did some clean up on my system and everythings fine now
(should be done now and then, i'm just too lazy)
