I looked around little & found & tried 2 DShow noise filters:

Alpary Denoise V 0.2 & Dynamic Noise Reduction (DNR) from Mike Crash,

by capturing with Virtual VCR. Alpary filter was pretty ineffective and with stronger settings always crashed Virtual VCR.

DNR removed noise much better, with smaller CPU load, by stroner settings it leaves 'ghost' on picture, what approves that it's time-based. It is still in (frozen) development, as I see from his homesite.

Have we some other choice beside this 2 DS filter?

I believe you could use ffdshow's denoiser. But don't slap me if I'm wrong...

I see only add noise in ffdshow (Milan Cutka, build Oct. 28 2003).

Which version contains denoiser?

I use the Oct 10 2002 build, and that one has many settings you can choose from, e.g. Deinterlace: Linear interpolation, Linear blending, Cubic interpolation, Median, TomsMoComp, Bob.

I don't know for sure which options your ffdshow build has, but I guess it may have some more as it's newer.

Have a look at the ffdshow configuration.
