View Full Version : Why is image creation is not an option?

I'm using AVI2DVD ver 1.2.1 build 3.
On the "CD Image" tab I only have two options:
* Sonic Scenarist, and
* Don't make images

These options are greyed out, and cannot be selected:
* VCDXbuild
* VCDImager
* I-Author

I installed DVD2SVCD, and when the option didn't show up, I downloaded a new copy and reinstalled it into a different directory, thinking that would help. I also downloaded a standalone copy of VCDImager and put it in the DVD2SVCD directory. Nothing I have done will allow me to use VCDImager with DVD2SVCD/AVI2DVD. Is there a certain directory name that it looks for, or is there something else I need to do?
Current directory names of VCDImager are:

C:\Program Files\DVD2SVCD\VCDImager
C:\Program Files\DVD2SVCD\vcdimager-0.7.12.win32

Any ideas on why I can't get DVD2SVCD to see the VCDImager program?
:confused:

Hi.
Welcome to the forum.

In answer to your question, VCDXBuild and VCDImager are only able to make images for VCD and SVCD. So if you select DVD as your output, these options are greyed out. The only program supported for DVD image creation is Sonic Scenarist, hence in DVD mode the only options available are "Scenarist" and "Don't make images".

You can author using jsoto's DVDAuth plugin with IFOEdit (see dvd2dvd.org for download link), or author manually in one of the many authoring tools available.

It is anticipated the next version of DVD2SVCD will support automated DVD imaging with freeware tools but no release date has been announced.
