im using a left/right RCA to stereo cable to line in of soundcard as the audio in for my capture needs .. but now i have a single channel (mono) source now ..

what is the hardware solution - ie.what connectors shud i look for ? [ my vcr out is single channel RCA audio out & sound card stereo line in as usual ]

else some software fix like - say some utility mixing the right channel to the left as well before the audio is transferred to the software .. i dont even know whether anything like this is possible - wuz just thinking ...

I use Pinnacle Studio 8.8 from capture to burning.
audio correction after capturing like using sonicfoundry acid or something similiar is not possible .. as this requires removing my video from pinnacle capture which i really dont want to as i have very very limited space on my HDD after MJPEG+PCM Capture ..

No response from capture forum members ... perhaps you'll have better luck now that I've moved the thread to the audio forum.

Something like this should work, which you can get from your local radio shack:

Such a connector will split the mono signal into duplicate stereo channels, you can use your existing stereo RCA to mini plug cord, capture this and later convert to mono with any audio editing program if desired.
