Hello, first of all, since this is my first post on this forum :)

I have a problem capturing video from an analog camcorder. I'm using the composite in on my AIW 8500DV. CPU is Athlon 2600+, running on an asus nforce board.

The problem is, that the playback on the PC freezes whenever there is fast movement or a scene change on the source tape. When I rewind on the camcorder, the picture is moving again, right up to the next camera swin or scene change.

I tried MJPEG, Huffyuv, DivX codecs, it happens with all of them.

I'm using MMC 8.7 and latest drivers. Also tried VDub and Ulead Media studio to capture, same thing with every program.

So is my card dying, or is it some software problem? Im using win XP Pro SP1.

My first thought was that it would be the connection, but the same thing happens with composite and s-video connection.

Did anyone ever encounter a problem like this before, and if so, how did you solve it?

I posted this on two other forums before, but no one could help me so far. :(

Seeing as how your problem is consistent with all the programs I would guess it's a driver issue. I've been having terrible problems with my video card after I updated the drivers. I'm going to reformat so I can start clean, and I would guess that would be the best thing you can do at this point.

Just my 2 cents though.

Did a clean install today (Windows was giving me other problems as well), and it still doesnt work properly.

Could it be the video card, or would it just not work at all? I dont have any other problems with it.
