DVD Shrink 3.1.2 and forced subs

Hi!

Is it possible in DVD Shrink's reauthor mode to select the subtitle-stream, that will be used to show the forced subs?

This means on initial playback of the DVD it should not show all subtitles of this stream but just the forced subs of the selected subtitle-stream. Right now DVD Shrink just seems to use the first subtitle-stream (which most of the time is English :( )

Is there a possibility to change this after recompression by other means e.g. IFO Edit?

In reauthor mode,

rightclick on the Title - you will be able to choose the default audio and subtitle (even when more streams/subs are available)

In ifoedit it is possible too, found the way on this forum

If I select the subtitle stream (as you mentioned) within DVD Shrink's reauthor mode, all subtitles will be displayed (as I wrote in my initial mail), not only the forced subs.

The goal: When I insert the reauthored DVD in my DVD-player, the player should be initiated to use e.g. "Subtitle-Stream 4. Spanish" as the source for forced(!) subs. Normal subtitles should be OFF, just the forced subs of the choosen stream should be ON ;)

Right now, if I select "No subpicture" within DVD Shrink, it seems to display the forced subs of the first subtitle-stream listed :(

Where did you find the IFOEdit-method? Can you post a link?
Perhaps it can be initialized by insering a certain pre-command...

Thanks! for the hint! I saw this thread but was missguided by the title ;)

I just thought it is all about switching normal subtitles ON or OFF. I didn't recognize that there's an instruction for defaulting streams for forced subs :cool:

Everything's working now! Nevertheless it would be cool to see this as an additional option implemented in a future DVD Shrink version :D

there is an easier way tho in ifoedit... by just doubleclicking the sub and select the first Language Type to Present and last the Coding caption to Forced Caption,,, works for me
