I have tried to back up some DVD movies. However, some of the disks will not play back on the computer using Power DVD. I burn using Nero, and the burning and even verification works OK, but when I try to play back on the computer, I get an error message that the disk might be damaged. Most disks play back on the stand alone player whithout problems. I even found that one of the didks play back on a computer with WinDVD but not PowerDVD. Is there any suggestions what this problem can be due to?

Thanks, DJ

What disc are you using.

What method (applications) do you use in the backup process.

I use DVD shrink and burn the files using Nero 6.3.0.0. I have used a number of different DVD disks, not well known brands in jewel case however. I am using a Pioneer 106, but have tried Nec 1300 and an external Sony as well, but with the same type of problems.

Is nero burning them in "UDF w/Joliet" or something else? These are file system settings.
also
Are you burning data or dvd video? Dvd video creates VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders but data doesn't.

I am burning the DVD's as Video DVD and in ISO. Lately I have noticed that two of my disks play OK on the computer, but one is without sound and the other without subtitles. Any suggestions?
