Would anybody be interested in that ? We would even give DspGuru a lifetime closed source license for libmatroska/libebml if he agreed to do it :D ....

It would be nice to have, but it's usually quite easy to encode with raw streams and then mux into Matroska. If it was really necessary, someone could write a simple frontend for MKVtoolnix and Besweet that could extract audio, convert, and remux.
Especially considering the little time DSPguru has available. Personally if I was going to be making BeSweet feature requests right now it'd be for support of a dll compile of FAAC :D.

Writing the blocks directly into MKA, using one of our handy muxer plugins ( the API is quite simple and now their is even MILK to make things easier again ), and setting the right timestamp, would be no more than one day work for DG ....

I was tempted to post in the foobar2000 thread already, but remembering how the conversation went, I didn't...
I voted for yes, but nevertheless I have my doubts. Up to now, Mosu's mkvtoolnix were the feature complete set of tools to create and edit Matroska files. While there is of course support in VirtualDubMod it isn't by any means complete because of VfW.
To get my point straight: mkvmerge supports writing of audio only files with chapter information from .cue-sheets. The logical consequence to me would have been, to implement the writing of 'gapless' information also into this tool.
Maybe PP implements the option of 'Convert To MKA' in foobar2000 by himself with all the necessary information. This really would be the most flexible solution to all the hard core audio guys at HA.

I have the same opinion on mka files. As foobar supports more file formats than BeSweet, it should be the one first implementing mka audio support. Btw, because of enriched features of BeSweet, mka support would not cause any harm. ( i love to see it on besweet too):). But not necessary, as we have other methods.

BeSweet supports external output plugins.
you'll find refernce source-code on my plugins page (titled "A Simple PCM Encoder").

If anybody from the team made the plugin, would you add it to the main distribution ? :) ...

yea, sure.
you'd probably also need a more flexible plugin interface, so think about your needs for a few days, and suggest me (here, not via pm - almost full!) the fields for the interface structure.
i'll add it whenever have some spare time.
