Has anyone else had problems making chapters in a .ogm file to be correct? For example, say I told virtualdub MOD that I wanted chapter 3 to be at 0:03:35:000. It won't be at that time, maybe it'll be at 0:03:38:000. If i put another time like 0:03:32:000, it'll STILL end up being at 0:03:38:000.

If it helps, I'm using Win2k, Virtualdub MOD 1.5.10.1
the audio stream is in .ogg
the video is xvid
the subs are .srt using subrip

Try using another tool for muxing.

I don't like to use virtualdub for muxing, even though it might be more user friendly.

OggMux_Nic (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=58522&highlight=oggmux+nic)
OggMuxer_Gui (http://zuludev.de.vu/) by Zulu is also another alternative.

Hello, Mr.Incognito, and welcome to Doom9's forum.

I've used chapters in both OGM and Matroska, and while I'm no expert, having only dabbled with them, I think what you may be experiencing is that the chapter may be set at a particular time or frame, but the player must skip ahead to the next keyframe (I-frame) in order to begin playing.

The only way to ensure "perfect" chapters is to make the starting frame a keyframe.

I tried that OggMux_Nic, but then all my chapters are forced to be at 00:00:00:000 no matter what I tell the chapters to be.
