I have been reading this forum and it seems there is NO easy way to convert a pal dvd to ntsc dvd??

I ordered some dvds on e-bay from the UK I live in US and my player only supports the ntsc format. panasonic rp82

I have a dvd burner but have no experience in doing this type of thing.

Would someone be kind enough to post a step by step guide on how to do this using the easiest software?

I am aware that I wil need more then one software to do this but I am willing to give it my best shot if someone can post what softwae I need and what to do exactly? Keep in mind that I am a newbie to all this.

I recently spent upwards of two hundred dollars on dvds in PAL format so I am reall yin a bind here.

Thannk you so much in advance,
Harvey

Here's a good discussion on how to make your standalone Region Free (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=66118&highlight=region+free). If your only goal is to view the PAL (Region 2) discs with an NTSC (Region 1) standalone player without manually editing anything, this may be an option for you.

Either way, the linked thread provides a few answers and will give you something to chew on, and hopefully, a starting point. :)
