when i rip certain dvds to my HD, and open them with dr. divx, dr. divx says the movies are only a few minutes over an hour long. this happens with a number of DVDs, i have tried ripping with smartripper and dvd decrypter
why is this, how do i fix the problem?

I never used dr. divx. What's the total size of the ripped vob-files?

yea me too, i noticed that yesterday.
I was ripping Shreck scandinavian version and the film length is around 1:30 as far as windvd, powerdvd thinks when im playing it.. When i rip it the new .m2v elementary stream is just around 50 mins... ive watched the stream and it seems that certain scenes are cut out.. i havnt watched in detail but something is def. missing.
DVDd. certanly choose the right cells, right chapters and so on.. nothing unusual.. so i have no idea, this is the first time iver noticed this..

I have a problem where the ripped VOBs are always a couple seconds longer than the actual DVD video. For example, Planet of the Apes (NTSC R1) is 01:59:01 on the DVD, but after ripping the main PGC in IFO mode, the movie is 01:59:08.
