"i been researching a/v sync issues before posting, im comming up short on a solution"

I been using this gem for awhile dvd2svcd and swear by it, for the most part my stuff is great.
i have an .img dvd-r of aliens the directors cut, tried this 4 times always out of sync after the conversion. i tried burning the bin/cues and running them from D-tools, out of sync in both and on a standalone as well.
the .img file plays great no sync issues with it, so i am confused on this one.
i stopped by irc and managed to get kicked but no assistance :(
i tried v-strip & internal routines same thing, the finished product is out of sync.
any help would be appreciated
Thanks

heres a logfile, i noticed it was asked for in other topics

I really have no idea, but have you tried double clicking SVCD in the BBMPEG advanced settings ? maybe the sync is lost in the multiplexing ??

really this is just a wild, wild guess, nothing more :(

there's also this from the Q&A, though i guess youve already read it, ah well

Q24: My audio and video are not synced
A: This rarely happens. The most common reason is when a DVD have been ripped with an external ripper (like Smartripper). Always us internal routines when possible. (In the new DVD2SVCD versions, you can select "Rip Only" and convert the ripped vob files later). Another reason could be that a trailer is as the first chapter on the DVD (like Swordfish).

IMPORTANT Note!: There is the possibility of A/V sync issues due to a bug in in DVD2AVI. Adding extras or doing seperate episodes are most likely to have this issue, but regular movies can have this problem as well. If you are having A/V sync problems check the chapters of the DVD and make sure there are no chapters that do not have any length to them. If so and they are the first or last chapters re-rip the DVD without these chapters. If this does not fix the problem or this does not apply to your DVD then the only way to encode this will be to treat each side as a different DVD

Q52: My audio and video are out of sync from a DVD I ripped is there something to try right away?
A: Check to see if this applies to you first. Select internal routines to rip, click on the time shown on the conversion tab and see if the first chapter has a 0 value. If it does uncheck it and start over.

Thanks, for the post.
i tried again last nite using that "D2SRoBa" plug in.
it ripped it with dvd decrypter, i chose the settings from the basics forum on this plug in posted here.

there is a bunch of stuff at the begining of the DVD but that is stripped out, but is typical.

i only add my picture in place of the std dvd2svcd's title picture & cd change picture. no other tampering other then that, just a basic svcd.

checked, none of the chapters have a zero value, all have a time assigned.

i have no knowledge who the "ripper" & what was used to rip the dvd-r .img file, although i suspect its a cloneDVD file, but shows no sync problems in PowerDVD when mounted in D-tools & played.
i have tried this movie with: internal routines, v-strip & dvd decryptor w/o success.

is there a way to uncompress the .img to straight OUT vobs and IFOs on the hard-drive? and use D2S on them ?

I used to have sync problems (on 1st disc of SVCD's, very slight but very noticable), when it suddenly occoured to me the the picture on the 1st disc caused the delay (no delay on the 2nd).

I stopped the encoding of the pic and all is now sync'd perfectly.

Give that a go and see if it works.
