I used DVD Decrypter and extracted all the files of a DVD into my hard drive. I then used dvd shrink 3.1.2 to read the ripped files. It does the analyzing but then gives me the following error mesage:

Failed to open file c:\tmp\VTS_01_9.VOB

I look in the directory and the filename only goes up to VTS_01_8.VOB. The strange thing is that if I run dvd shrink and read the files right off the dvd (instead of ripping to HD first), everything works fine.

Any ides what I'm doing wrong or how to fix this?

Thanks.

Sounds like you might be ripping 'movie only' in DVDDecrypter, if thats the case try ripping 'all files' with Decrypter. Thats my only guess. Let us know.

With DVD Decrytper under Tools->Settings->File Mode->On Startup I have selected All. When I startup DVD Decrypter the window on the right has all the files highlighted and the last file is VTS_01_8.VOB. Why is DVD Shrink complaining about VTS_01_9.VOB?

Thanks

Can you rip it in ISO read mode and then mount it using Daemon tools? or do you want to be able to edit the original files on your HD?

You can most certainly do that! I do it all the time!

I like the Daemon tool idea and will give that a try. Thanks...
