Has anyone come across this or something like it? I wanted to back up my Underworld DVD, splitting it to 2 discs (one for the movie, one for extras). I ripped the whole disc as-is with SmartRipper to my hard drive. In the process of preparing to split it out, I looked at the VIDEO_TS.IFO file with IfoEdit (version 0.95) and decided to try and play it with the good old "DVD Play" button. It starts out just like playing the disc in a set-top with the "Columbia Tristar" opening. The next thing that should play is the root menu, but IfoEdit locks up - so badly that it is using so much CPU resource the system crawls. I had to kill the process in Task Manager to get IfoEdit to close!
I tried re-ripping with Decrypter with the same results from IfoEdit - total lockup. Did some clever commercial DVD author figure out a way to defeat IfoEdit? Am I just not experienced enough to figure this out? :)
Thanks!
