Any recommendations? For work, movies, not so much games.

I'm thinking of the Hercules 920 Pro DVI - any opinions?

Cheers :)

I hear the new generation of Samsung's are pretty good. Look for one with the lowest response time you can get. 16ms would be good if you can get.

I have to applaud Philips. I have a Philips 170B4 model that is excellent. It is very fast, has wide angle of view, and is bright/very clear. Also, I have to give a big cheer to their tech support/warrenty. My original 170B1 monitor developed a line down the screen about 1" from the right edge, it wouldn't go away. Their toll-free tech support didn't ask any questions, simply gave me an RMA number and UPS'ed me a label to send the monitor back to them. Within 5 days they sent me a brand new 170B4 monitor as a replacement.

This model has both analog and DVI input, can be wall-mounted. It also has an internal transformer so there is no "power brick" laying around.

Another Philips fan speaking (I’m Dutch ;) )
My Philips 170S4 has a little less fancy stuff (DVI and Wall-Mounting) then Happygolucky’s 170B4, but that’ll make it cheaper. It’s horizontal viewing angle is great, almost 180deg. The vertical angle a little less (but normally you and your screen are at the same height)

Finally, one thing about response time: 25ms is the fastest existing (AFAIK)! 16ms looks higher, but that’s actually a half response time. Those monitors have a little trick. They change the colour in two steps. So the response time from one colour to another is 16+16=32ms. (An example: the colour was yellow and should become blue, than the steps are: yellow->green->blue)
