MKV to AVI

Hi,

I need to convert all my MKVs to AVIs for my standalone player.

The added complication is that all my MKVs have Vorbis audio.

So, what's the best method / what tools will I use to turn my MKV (XviD+Vorbis) into AVI (XviD+MP3).

AVIMux-Gui won't do it, because AVIs cant take Vorbis.

Hi,

Please note that this will result in a substantial loss in quality in the audio. However, I'd recommend using BeSweet with AVI input to transcode directly to MP3 (you'll need vobinput.dll), which will give you an MP3 file. Then use VirtualDubMod to mux the XviD in MKV + Mp3 to an AVI.
